Senior Embedded Software Engineer - Energy Storage Systems

Overview

As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you will design and deliver core firmware for Battery Management Systems (BMS) that directly impacts safety, performance, and reliability at scale.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture, design, implementation, and verification of core BMS firmware.
• Develop high‑reliability embedded software in C, compliant with functional‑safety standards.
• Design firmware modules and interfaces for cell monitoring, balancing, SOC/SOH estimation, and protection algorithms.
• Optimize CPU, memory, and power usage to meet real‑time constraints.
• Debug complex hardware‑software interactions across MCU peripherals (ADC, SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet).
• Drive software quality through unit testing, automated regression, code reviews, and static analysis (MISRA‑C).
• Produce clear technical documentation: design specs, interface definitions, and release notes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of embedded software development experience, including 4+ years in battery‑related systems.
• Deep understanding of microcontroller architectures and real‑time embedded systems.
• Proven experience implementing battery‑management algorithms (cell balancing, SOC/SOH, protection).
• Expert‑level C programming skills; MISRA‑C:2004/2012 compliance is a strong plus.
• Hands‑on experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and static analysis tools.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to debug complex, cross‑disciplinary issues.
• A B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.
