Operational Controller

Balticpower

Join us. Be one of the first. Be the future.

Baltic Power is a joint venture between two regional leaders of energy transition, Northland Power and ORLEN, pioneering Poland’s offshore wind industry and driving the country’s energy transformation. We are constructing the very first offshore wind farm in the Polish part of the Baltic Sea. With a planned capacity of 1.1 GW, the project will play a key role in strengthening the country’s energy mix and supporting the transition to lower‑carbon power generation.

By joining Baltic Power, you will contribute to the development and long‑term operation of a large‑scale renewable energy asset. You will work alongside experienced professionals and international partners to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable delivery of clean electricity to approximately 1.5 million households. You’ll work with the world’s most advanced 15 MW offshore turbines and define the best operational practices for a new branch of Polish industry.

We are looking for individuals who value safety, collaboration, and technical excellence, and who are motivated to contribute to the responsible development of renewable energy in Poland.

Operational Controller

We are looking for an Operational Controller/DIRE who will be part of the Operations Control Centre team responsible for safe and compliant operation of the wind farm’s electrical systems. The role sits at the operational control layer, ensuring electrical safety, system control, and real‑time supervision of offshore and onshore assets in a live operational environment. This role operates on a rotational schedule.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

  • Operate the wind farm safety, ensuring that every electrical installation on the Baltic Power Offshore Wind Farm is managed according to rules, regulations, and engineering standards
  • Act as DIRE and OC under the Wind Electrical Safety Rules — managing isolation, switching, and PtW processes through the Electronic Safe System of Work. Contribute to 24/7 operational supervision of the wind farm using SCADA and CCTV
  • Operate SOWE, LFC and other required interfaces to ensure accurate, timely data exchange and operational planning with the TSO
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and control system issues
  • Analyze and interpret data from power and automation networks
  • Provide oversight of switching schedules and support field teams in the implementation of electrical safety controls
  • Maintain shift reports and documentation precisely and clearly.
  • Implement preventive measures, define corrective actions, and elevate issues to the Operations Manager
  • Take an active role in daily O&M coordination calls, providing timely updates on outages, and forecast capacity on a regular basis
  • Take control of marine surveillance during non‑offshore operational hours
  • Support ad hoc tasks related to site performance and maintenance activities

Who You Are (Qualifications & Skills)

  • Strong commitment to safe operations, with a clear safety‑first mindset in all activities.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Automation, or related technical field
  • 3+ years of experience in a control room, operations centre, SAP role, or similar operational environment
  • Strong experience with electrical systems, switching, protection, and operational procedures.
  • Valid SEP E and D electrical licences
  • Fluent in Polish and English, both spoken and written
  • Strong communication skills
  • Solid command of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook

Nice to have

  • Experience in offshore wind
  • Knowledge of renewable energy regulations

Why join us?

  • Be part of Poland’s first offshore wind farm and help shape an entirely new sector in Poland
  • A culture that values skills over certificates
  • Influence the development of operational standards for future Polish offshore wind projects
  • Competitive salary and benefits package
