Overview

The person in this role demonstrates a high level of professionalism, prioritizing the strategic development and implementation of AI security measures, leading a dedicated team, and ensuring the protection of Bunge's critical AI assets. This role is pivotal in establishing the foundational guardrails for ethical and secure AI adoption across Bunge, and strategically preparing our IT platforms for the evolving future AI landscape. Responsibilities include providing expert guidance, driving significant projects, and proactively identifying and mitigating advanced AI‑related security risks across the organization.

Main Accountabilities

  • Lead and manage significant operational plans and large‑scale AI security projects and initiatives with substantial independence, ensuring successful execution and alignment with organizational goals, including the establishment of robust guardrails for AI usage within Bunge.
  • Provide leadership and direction to a team of AI security professionals and support staff, fostering their development and ensuring high performance in securing AI systems.
  • Hold responsibility for the overall performance, budgetary oversight, and results of a dedicated medium‑size AI security team or multiple smaller teams.
  • Resolve complex security issues that extend beyond immediate team boundaries, leveraging comprehensive knowledge of related disciplines to ensure holistic solutions, while also contributing to the strategic readiness of Bunge's IT platforms for future AI advancements.
  • Develop strategic plans and roadmaps for AI security within the Cyber Security department, acting as a recognized internal expert whose contributions have a significant organizational impact, encompassing the definition of secure AI governance frameworks and the architectural evolution of IT infrastructure for AI integration.
  • Contribute to the short‑to‑mid‑term (1‑3 years) talent optimization plans within the AI security domain, helping to execute on strategic objectives for talent growth and development.
  • Design and implement SOAR‑driven workflows to automate AI security operations, including alert triage, incident response, threat enrichment, and response playbooks tailored to AI/ML environments.
  • Collaborate with Security Operations and Engineering teams to embed AI‑specific detection and response logic into existing SOAR and SIEM platforms.

Education / Experience

  • Deep expertise in AI/ML security principles, frameworks (e.g., NIST AI RMF, OWASP ML Top 10), and best practices.
  • Typically a 4‑year college (Bachelor's) degree is required, with a Master's or MBA preferred.
  • Experience with SOAR platforms (e.g., Cortex XSOAR, Splunk SOAR, Microsoft Sentinel automation, or similar) and the design of automated security playbooks.
  • Extensive position‑related functional management experience, typically ranging from 15 to 19 years, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong understanding of machine learning model vulnerabilities, data poisoning, adversarial attacks, and privacy‑preserving ML techniques.
  • Proficiency in cloud security principles and architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) as they apply to AI workloads.
  • Experience with security architecture, threat modeling, and risk assessment specifically for AI systems.
  • Knowledge of data governance, privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and ethical AI principles.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
