Interim Country Accounting Leader (m/f)

Your responsibilities

• Lead all country accounting activities for Poland.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Oversee balance sheet integrity, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
• Ensure compliance with Polish accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain compliance with US GAAP, SOX, and corporate accounting policies.
• Support internal and external audits and coordinate responses to audit findings.
• Partner with regional finance, FP&A, tax, treasury, and business leaders.
• Review and strengthen the local control environment.
• Identify accounting, compliance, and operational risks and implement corrective actions.
• Lead resolution of accounting and reporting issues and ensure sustainable process improvements.
• Provide leadership and guidance to local accounting team members.
• Support ERP-related activities and process enhancement initiatives.

Our requirements

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, ACA, Polish equivalent, or similar) strongly preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities within multinational organizations.
• Strong knowledge of Polish accounting regulations, statutory reporting, and local compliance requirements.
• Solid understanding of US GAAP, SOX, and internal control frameworks.
• Proven experience supporting audits and driving compliance and process improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrated experience in strengthening accounting processes, enhancing internal controls, and implementing corrective actions to address identified risks, audit observations, or compliance requirements.
• Proven track record of delivering sustainable improvements within complex finance organizations.
• Fluent English and Polish.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to operate effectively in a matrix organization.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• High level of accountability and ownership.
• Strong communication skills with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Ability to quickly assess risk areas and implement pragmatic solutions.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing competing priorities.

• You will receive a remuneration package aligned with your experience with the salary starting with 300 000 PLN gross annually
