Hays Contracting Services operates under a B2B service delivery model. We are currently looking for a B2B contractor to provide services in the area of cloud-native infrastructure, Kubernetes platforms, and DevOps automation as part of a global OpenShift platform development and operations initiative for an international client.

Location: 100% remote 

Cooperation type: B2B contract

Start date: ASAP, preferably within 30 days

Project duration: Long-term cooperation

Rate: 190-240 PLN/h (net + VAT), higher expectations will also be considered

Language: English C1, German is a strong asset

Project description:

The client is running a large-scale infrastructure support initiative for a Germany-based organization. The project centers around a highly automated Red Hat OpenShift platform operating across approximately 20 global installations and supporting production-critical middleware services. The environments are deployed on bare metal infrastructure, plant-based hypervisors, and cloud platforms. 

The platform team owns the infrastructure and platform layer up to the namespace boundary. The project's objective is to ensure the security, scalability, availability, and continuous evolution of the platform while enabling business-critical workloads across the client's global landscape.

Scope of services:

• Install and administer OpenShift clusters using IPI, UPI and assisted installer methods.
• Manage cluster lifecycles, upgrades, nodes, machine configuration, registries, storage and networking.
• Implement RBAC, SCCs, Pod Security Standards, OAuth, identity providers, certificates, network policies, compliance and hardening.
• Design multi-tenancy, namespace isolation, quotas, limit ranges and network segmentation.
• Develop and operate GitOps deployment models with Argo CD, Helm, Git and SOPS-encrypted environment values.
• Build monitoring, alerting and logging solutions with Prometheus, Thanos, Alertmanager, Loki and Grafana.
• Develop Ansible playbooks, inventories, workflows, job templates, execution environments and API-based automation.
• Integrate secrets with AWS Secrets Manager and HashiCorp Vault.
• Manage container runtimes, images, registries, operators, CRDs, CSI integrations, load balancing, DNS, ingress and egress.
• Support backup, restore, disaster recovery, capacity planning, performance optimization and root-cause analysis.
• Create technical documentation, runbooks and knowledge-sharing materials, and collaborate across teams during incidents.
• Use Terraform, Terragrunt, Tekton, YAML/JSON and, where needed, Python or Go for infrastructure and automation tasks.

Required competencies:

• 10+ years of experience in consulting, platform engineering or infrastructure-related roles, including 5+ years of hands-on experience with the required technologies.
• Advanced expertise in Red Hat OpenShift administration and operations. 
• Strong Kubernetes knowledge, including cluster administration, networking, storage and operators. 
• Hands-on experience with Argo CD, GitOps methodologies and Helm
• Practical experience with Ansible Automation Platform and infrastructure automation 
• Strong observability expertise covering Prometheus, Thanos, Loki, Alertmanager and Grafana
• Experience with AWS services, infrastructure design and automation
• Knowledge of Terraform and Terragrunt
• Strong understanding of networking, security, access management and compliance practices
• Proficiency with Git, YAML and troubleshooting complex platform environments
• English at C1 level, used daily within an international team and project environment

Nice to have:

• German language skills.
• Experience with Tekton Pipelines.
• Knowledge of Python and/or Go.
• Experience with HashiCorp Vault.
• Knowledge of service mesh concepts.
• Experience with enterprise storage integrations and Kubernetes Operators.

The Contractor independently organizes and manages the manner in which the services are performed, taking into account the project requirements, security obligations, and the necessary communication with the client.
