About the project
In Cyclad we work with top international IT companies in order to boost their potential in delivering outstanding, cutting edge technologies that shape the world of the future. Currently, for our client, we are looking for a skilled Senior MySQL Administrator.
You will join a project focused on maintaining and evolving a distributed MySQL database environment that supports critical payment systems. This role combines hands-on database administration with close collaboration with development and QA teams across both on-premise and cloud environments.

Your responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain MySQL databases and clustering solutions
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness
- Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize queries and indexes
- Manage backup and recovery processes, including hot backups
- Perform database upgrades, patching, and migrations
- Collaborate with development teams on schema design, query optimization, and application profiling
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents, providing technical support
- Implement and enforce database security policies and best practices
- Create and maintain technical documentation
- Participate in customer-facing technical consultations when needed
- Stay up to date with MySQL ecosystem developments and industry best practices
Our requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a MySQL Database Administrator
- Strong knowledge of MySQL architecture, replication, and clustering
- Proven experience in performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing
- Experience with AWS RDS Aurora
- Expertise in backup and recovery strategies
- Ability to work independently in production environments
Optional
- Experience with high availability and disaster recovery design
- Scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python)
- Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience in customer-facing technical roles or consulting
- Knowledge of database security and compliance in regulated environments

such data shall result in lack of possibility to include the Application in the recruitment processes conducted by the Company.
The candidate has the right to access and rectify the contents of their data, remove such data, limit its processing, transfer such data, submit objection to the processing and revoke the consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of the processing conducted under such consent before it was
withdrawn. The candidate also has the right to file a complaint with the President of the Office for Personal Data Protection when they consider the processing of their personal data to be a violation of the provisions of the GDPR.
