5–8 years of experience in retail technology, POS engineering, or a similar role,hands-on experience with Front Systems POS or comparable Point of Sale platforms,experience working in a techno-functional role, combining hands-on work with APIs and integrations with a strong understanding of retail business processes,strong understanding of middleware solutions and integration layers,proven ability to support high-transaction, business-critical systems with a strong focus on performance, stability, and reliability,ability to overlap working hours with teams operating in the Pacific Time Zone (PST) for a few hours on a regular basis,strong understanding of retail store operations, checkout processes, pricing, and promotions,experience integrating enterprise systems using REST or SOAP APIs,familiarity with JSON and XML data formats,solid knowledge of SQL and relational databases,experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS,understanding of omnichannel retail environments and integrations between online and offline sales channels,experience providing L2/L3 support for business-critical applications,strong analytical and problem-solving skills,ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders and technical teams,good communication skills in English (min. B2),practical experience using AI-powered assistants (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to improve productivity, quality, or decision-making in software delivery. Work from the European Union region and a work permit are required. Nice to have: experience working within Nordic retail environments,familiarity with Adobe Commerce, Magento, or similar eCommerce platforms,participation in large-scale POS transformation or modernization projects,experience applying GenAI in a more structured way within the SDLC, including defined workflows, prompt patterns, or tool integrations embedded into daily work,interest in and familiarity with emerging AI-driven practices (e.g. agent-based workflows, automation patterns, AI-augmented development), with a willingness to explore and experiment beyond standard approaches.
