IT Application Administrator
Who we are looking for
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including installation and configuration, performance monitoring and troubleshooting, backup, restore, and maintenance planning
- Experience working with enterprise / 3rd‑party application vendors (incident resolution, upgrades, troubleshooting).
- Solid understanding of Windows Server environments and virtualization platforms (VMware; Hyper‑V as an advantage).
- Strong skills in technical troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and remediation
- Practical knowledge of enterprise database concepts (availability, performance, security, recoverability)
- Basic experience or familiarity with cloud platforms: Azure (preferred), AWS or GCP
- Understanding of application lifecycle management (installation, upgrades, patching, decommissioning)
- Awareness of security and compliance requirements (access control, encryption, audit readiness).
Additional Advantages:
- Experience with Azure SQL / Azure services in hybrid environments.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g. SolarWinds, SCOM, custom SQL monitoring).
- Ability to work with change, incident, and problem management processes (ITIL‑aligned).

Your future role
Database Administration (DBA)
- Install, configure, administer, and maintain SQL Server databases across environments
- Monitor database health, performance, capacity, and availability.
- Perform performance tuning and SQL diagnostics.
- Ensure databases meet security, compliance, and audit requirements.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
Business Applications Operations (2nd Level Support)
- Install, upgrade, and maintain enterprise applications on‑premises
- Own application configurations, OS‑level dependencies, and integration points
- Act as 2nd‑line support, resolving complex incidents escalated from 1st line.
- Diagnose application, OS, and database‑related issues using logs, monitoring tools, and system metrics
- Coordinate with infrastructure teams without owning infrastructure operations directly.
Operations, Monitoring & Incident Management
- Proactively monitor application and database health using monitoring and alerting tools
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve performance bottlenecks (CPU, memory, storage, I/O)
- Participate in high‑severity and critical incident handling, working closely with Incident Management
- Provide expert knowledge during problem management and root cause analysis
Change, Optimization & Continuous Improvement
- Implement IT system changes in line with change management processes
- Participate in application and database upgrades, migrations, and improvements
- Identify opportunities to improve stability, performance, and operational efficiency
- Support standardization and automation initiatives where applicable
Collaboration & Documentation
- Provide high‑quality technical support to other IT teams within Deloitte Central Europe.
- Prepare and maintain installation guides, operational runbooks, and troubleshooting documentation.
- Collaborate with:
- Local and regional IT teams
- Application vendors
- Global Deloitte IT organizations
- Communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
