Software Engineer - Market Data

Responsibilities

• Design highly scalable, mission-critical market-data provider services.
• Build and productionize services and libraries for Alpaca’s streaming and historical market-data APIs.
• Maintain software quality and test coverage.
• Participate in code reviews.
• Troubleshoot incidents and reported bugs.

Requirements

• BSc/MSc in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least three years of backend software development experience.
• Hands-on experience with Docker or Kubernetes.
• Understanding of POSIX-like operating systems, modern infrastructure, and orchestration practices.
• Experience with large datasets, SQL, IP networking, financial markets, or a major cloud platform is beneficial.
• Kubernetes certifications such as CKA or CKAD are a plus.
• Experience with shell scripting, Linux, Docker, and microservice architectures is beneficial.
