Job description:

For our client, an international engineering and technology company, we are looking for an experienced Procurement Team Leader. The role involves managing a team of Buyers and Senior Buyers responsible for delivering global procurement services within a growing GBS environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the team’s operational workload, ensuring effective prioritization and timely delivery of procurement activities.
  • Provide day‑to‑day leadership to a team of Buyers and Senior Buyers, offering clear direction, guidance, and support.
  • Drive the performance management cycle by setting expectations, reviewing progress, and coaching team members toward improvement.
  • Ensure the team consistently meets agreed service levels and delivers high‑quality procurement outcomes.
  • Track operational KPIs, analyze results, and prepare regular performance updates for leadership.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure a high standard of service.
  • Promote professional, customer‑focused communication across all interactions.
  • Safeguard compliance with procurement policies, tools, and system requirements.
  • Foster collaboration across departments and build productive working networks.
  • Identify bottlenecks or process gaps, propose solutions, and lead the implementation of improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in supply chain; previous team leadership experience is an advantage.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide, motivate, and support team members.
  • Excellent command of English (spoken and written), additional European languages are highly valued due to supplier interactions.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and time‑management skills, with the ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, enabling effective collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Experience in decision‑making and contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of SAP for resource, time, and expense management.
  • Proficiency in SAP, ARIBA, and MS Office is preferred.
