Senior Software Engineer (Electron / Desktop) 100% Remote | Europe Tech stack: Electron, TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, React What if your everyday apps could actually do the work for you? The team is building a new generation of AI-native applications designed to understand context, anticipate needs, and help people get things done with little to no prompting. Their first product is an agent-first communication app combining messaging, collaboration, and intelligent AI assistance. Now, they're looking for a Software Engineer (Desktop) to take ownership of the desktop experience and help bring this vision to life. What you'll be working on Building and improving cross-platform desktop applications using Electron and TypeScript. Creating responsive interfaces for real-time messaging and collaboration. Integrating AI-powered features, including chat, agents, and intelligent assistance. Implementing native desktop functionality such as notifications, file system access, auto-updates, and deep linking. Optimizing application performance, startup speed, and memory usage. Managing local data, application state, and message history. Ensuring a smooth, reliable experience across macOS and Windows. What we're looking for Strong software engineering experience with JavaScript and TypeScript. Hands-on experience building and shipping production Electron applications. Experience with React or a similar modern UI framework. Solid understanding of Electron architecture, application lifecycle, and IPC communication. Experience with local storage solutions such as SQLite, IndexedDB, or filesystem-based storage. Familiarity with WebSockets or other real-time communication technologies. Strong debugging and performance optimization skills. A proactive, independent mindset and genuine interest in building great products.
