Role Summary
CDSClear IT is the team behind the technology powering CDSClear - a critical clearing service within the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG). We are looking for a highly skilled Java Engineer to analyse requirements, design, develop and deliver high quality and well tested Java server side solutions. The role is part of the build out of a new team based in Bucharest. The new team will collaborate with colleagues in London and Paris to deliver innovative solutions.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Take ownership within the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle, using Agile or traditional methodologies as needed.
- Engineering of Java applications, their tests and supporting infrastructure within development environments.
- Analysis of business and functional requirements to design solutions.
- Collaborate with global teams on design of application change or that of the supporting infrastructure.
- Automation, from testing to deployment, to ensure speed and quality.
- Work within a regulated financial environment, with a strong focus on cybersecurity.
- Occasional out of hours support for releases or incidents.

What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years of similar experience
- Experienced with the design and development of Java-based backend services (Spring Boot, microservices architecture) using build tools such as Maven or Gradle.
- Exhibit the skills required to engineer services configured to meet corporate standards including those for resilience and information security.
- Experience using Ansible to configure and deploy applications.
- Linux skills suitable for managing software and debugging issues.
- Experience engineering pipelines in CI/CD tools to execute tests and/or deployments.
It would help us if you have:
- Intermediate level frontend (React and UI/UX) technology skills - e.g. React.js, Typescript, HTML5, CSS3 etc.
- Practical experience with Testing frameworks (e.g. Cypress) for automated testing of Web Applications.
- Experience of using AI tools to improve development productivity.
- Ability to design and develop Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform
- Engineered scalable and resilient Kubernetes clusters and supported the configuration of the hosted containerised applications
- Familiarity with code and dependency scanning toolsets for SCM, container scanning and static analysis.
- Used Artifactory as part of previous SDLC experience.
- Experience defining Infrastructure As Code for AWS services such as the following: EC2, RDS, EKS, Lambda, S3, EFS, Managed Kafka, ELB, Route 53 plus other networking services.
- Experience of using Terraform in a corporate environment executed via CI/CD pipelines.
