Lead Technical Control Facility Operator

Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services, is seeking a Lead Technical Control Facility Operator (Lead TCF Operator) to support a government contract based on the island of Diego Garcia.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure circuits and systems meet the management and performance threshold contained in DISA Circular 310-130-2.
  • Provide voice and data signals, satellite communications, communications security, and telecommunications to tenant commands.
  • Perform duties to ensure compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Amentum ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Manage communications equipment, monitor data connectivity, activate new circuits and trunks, monitor circuit and trunk continuity, perform quality control checks, respond to emergent taskings, monitor HF communications, manage frequency databases, and KMI local element accounts.
  • Maintain and record all QC activities that are scheduled and/or completed, in accordance with global, USG, Company, Program and PWS requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Provide 24/7 on‑call support as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five years general experience in communications.
  • Within the last four years, two years specialized experience directly related to Technical Control Facility operations.
  • Four years general experience having progressively responsible technical or craft experience in electronics, electricity, engineering, communication, physics, or a similar field that provided technical knowledge and background that could be applied to the testing, evaluation, installation, maintenance or repair of electronic systems and equipment.
  • Within the last three years, two years specialized experience in the theoretical and practical knowledge of electronic theory and of characteristics, functions, diagnosing, isolating, and correcting malfunctions and performing organizational level maintenance on communications and electronic equipment including, but not limited to AN/GSC 52B; M/20 JUNIPER; RT2200; KIV-7M, and associated CRYPTO equipment; Fiber Optic Equipment.
  • Three years’ experience in a supervisory role in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi‑national workforce.
  • Experience/familiarity with operation, repair, and maintenance of security systems and monitors, antenna couplers, multiplex/de‑multiplex equipment, line amplifiers, frequency standards, high‑speed modems, power supplies, data terminal sets, alarms, signal converters, remote SATCOM monitors, various satellite, HF voice and data communication ancillary equipment and devices.
  • Must be familiar with current global, US, Program and PWS requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US passport and driver’s license throughout employment in this role.
  • Ability to successfully pass PACOM medical requirements and maintain requirements for the duration of deployment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance.
  • Note: US citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Must be able to stand for long periods of time such as eight (8) to ten (10) hours, bend, kneel, and reach to store/retrieve supplies. Able to lift, carry, and push supplies and boxes up to 50 pounds. Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable. May work in a typical office environment.
