Monitoring Engineer (Warsaw, near-site) – EU Public Institutions

Profile: Monitoring Engineer (Microsoft SCOM, Monitoring, Reporting) - Level Standard.

Place of performance: Frontex Headquarters in Warsaw (70% on-site/ 30% remote) .

Duration of the mission: 48 months.

Security Clearance: RESTREINT UE/EU RESTRICTED.

Minimum level of education: Level 6.

English language skills (CEFR): B2.

Minimum IT relevant experience: 5 years (2 years in relevant/similar IT roles).

Award Criteria: 65% Quality / 35% Price (Minimum required scoring for interview: 70%.).

Rate: 243-253€/day (NWH); 504-514€/day (EWH) .

• Expected NWH: 230 days x 4 years.

• Expected EWH: 12 days x 4 years.

Knowledge and skills:

· Hands-on experience in administration of complex monitoring systems deployed in non-heterogeneous and containerized environments, including Cloud services.

· Expert knowledge in optimizing, tuning and planning of monitoring infrastructures.

· Experience in scripting on Windows Servers (PowerShell).

· Hands-on experience in administration of Microsoft Windows Servers and Linux Servers.

· Hands-on experience in administering virtual infrastructures.

· Experience collaborating with multiple support groups.

· Good organisational and prioritising skills.

· Experience with ticketing systems and ITIL-based change management, configuration management and release management processes.

· Proactive attitude, strong team-work spirit and user-oriented mindset.

· Good communication skills.

· Ability to cope with fast-changing technologies.

Specific expertise:

· Proven experience with Microsoft SCOM monitoring.

· Proven experience with Dynatrace monitoring.

· Experience with MP Studio and SquaredUp dashboards.

Tasks and responsibilities:

· Administering infrastructure monitoring systems such as Microsoft SCOM.

· Monitoring IT infrastructure composed of different operating systems, applications, services and devices.

· Creating and maintaining dashboards and alerts.

· Troubleshooting monitoring-related issues.

· Deploying, upgrading and patching Microsoft SCOM and other monitoring systems.

· Performing capacity planning, tuning and optimisation of monitoring environments.

· Updating technical documentation and operating procedures.

· Providing second-line support to other IT teams and coordinating with third-line support.

· Participating in coordination meetings and project meetings.

· Performing other specific duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Travel: By default, travelling in the interest of service is not foreseen for this position/profile.

· Nevertheless, Frontex may exceptionally request to carry out some services at other locations than Frontex Headquarters or other Contracting Authority’s premises.
