Description

The International Research Team (IRT) at Ecorys Poland is seeking a highly motivated Senior Consultant or Lead Consultant with in-depth knowledge of the Ukrainian context, its institutions, stakeholders, and socio-economic context, combined with strong analytical, research, and proposal‑writing skills to develop and expand our project portfolio.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in public policy research, socio‑economic analysis, programme design, assessments, evaluations, donor‑funded projects, reconstruction and recovery initiatives, or applied research related to Ukraine.

Experience with EU tenders or EU institutions is welcome but not essential.

The role

The successful candidate will primarily support our current and future activities related to Ukraine, including research, analysis, evaluation, and project development. We are particularly interested in candidates who bring:

  • knowledge of the donors' and stakeholders' landscape in Ukraine
  • previous experience in bid development
  • strong analytical, research, and assessment skills

Depending on interests and expertise, the successful candidate may also contribute to projects in other countries and thematic areas.

The role can be offered either full time or part time and can be based form either Kyiv, our office in Warsaw of fully remote where applicable.

As part of the International Research Team, you will:

  • Prepare project proposals, technical offers, and methodological approaches for international donors and clients active in Ukraine, drawing on a strong understanding of the Ukrainian context and stakeholder landscape;
  • Conduct policy, socio‑economic, and sectoral research related to Ukraine and its recovery, reconstruction, and development;
  • Analyse public policies, reforms, stakeholder landscapes, and institutional developments in Ukraine;
  • Design and implement qualitative and quantitative research activities, including interviews, focus groups, surveys, stakeholder consultations, and desk research;
  • Develop high-quality analytical reports, assessments, policy papers, and recommendations in English;
  • Support business development and acquisition activities related to Ukraine and other international projects;
  • Build and maintain relationships with Ukrainian stakeholders, experts, research institutions, NGOs, public authorities, and development partners;
  • Depending on seniority, coordinate project teams, experts, and subcontractors and ensure high-quality project delivery.

What you will need

  • Strong knowledge of Ukraine, including its institutions, governance structures, stakeholder landscape, reform processes, and current socio‑economic developments;
  • Experience conducting policy research, socio‑economic analysis, evaluations, assessments or applied research projects;
  • Experience preparing analytical reports, research studies, policy papers or project proposals;
  • Excellent analytical skills and strong knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods;
  • Fluency in Ukrainian is essential;
  • Excellent written and spoken English (C1/C2 level);
  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in public policy, economics, sociology, political science, law, international development, social policy or another relevant field;
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines;
  • Proactive attitude and willingness to contribute to business development and organisational growth.

Contract type and Remuneration

  • We welcome applications from candidates based in different countries;
  • Candidates based in Poland may be engaged under arrangements compliant with Polish regulations;
  • Candidates based outside Poland may be engaged through a consultancy agreement or another appropriate contractual arrangement;
  • The level of appointment (Senior Consultant or Lead Consultant) will depend on the candidate's experience, track record in business development, and ability to lead projects and proposal development activities.

Salary range and other benefits

  • The indicative salary range: approximately EUR 2,000– EUR 3,750 gross per month; The indicative salary range is presented in EUR and reflects full‑time equivalent remuneration.
  • For candidates engaged under Polish contractual arrangements, remuneration will be agreed and paid in the PLN equivalent (gross);
  • The final compensation package will depend on the type of engagement, location, seniority level, experience, expertise, and business development track record;
