Location: Kraków, Poland – employed by Ciritical Mission Services Sp. z o.o., part of Amentum.
About the Role
The Senior Planner & Scheduler plays a critical role in supporting the successful delivery of complex projects by developing and maintaining integrated project schedules, analyzing performance data, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams. The role requires deep expertise in planning and scheduling and a solid understanding of related disciplines such as cost control and risk management. Working independently with minimal guidance, the Senior Planner & Scheduler applies best practices and business insights to improve project outcomes. The role may lead project planning efforts or have accountability for ongoing scheduling activities across multiple projects or programs, and serves as a resource for colleagues with less experience, contributing to team development and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using tools such as Primavera P6 and MS Project, ensuring alignment with scope, milestones, and deliverables.
- Apply in‑depth knowledge of planning and scheduling, along with a basic understanding of related disciplines (e.g., cost control, risk management), to support integrated project controls.
- Resolve complex scheduling challenges by applying innovative thinking and leveraging existing solutions.
- Take ownership of planning activities, working independently with minimal supervision, and lead scheduling efforts within broader projects or programs.
- Act as a mentor and resource for junior planners and schedulers, sharing expertise and supporting their development.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, finance, and other stakeholders to ensure schedule integration and alignment with business goals.
- Support change and risk management processes by evaluating schedule impacts and conducting scenario planning.
- Monitor and report on schedule performance metrics, including earned value, schedule variance, and forecast accuracy.
- Drive continuous improvement in scheduling practices, tools, and reporting by applying best practices and business insights.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of digital dashboards and reporting tools for schedule tracking and performance visualization.
- Ensure compliance with internal scheduling standards, tools, and procedures.
Requirements
- Advanced knowledge of scheduling methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Analytical thinking – ability to interpret complex schedule data and provide actionable insights.
- Systems proficiency – skilled in Primavera P6, MS Project, Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present schedule data clearly to stakeholders.
- Experience working in cross‑functional and international teams.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
- Leadership – ability to lead planning efforts and support less experienced colleagues.
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, or related field.
- Fluent spoken and written English at B2 level or higher.
- Several years of experience in project planning and scheduling roles.
- Experience in a global or regional corporate environment.
- Exposure to infrastructure, energy, engineering, or consulting sectors is a plus.
- Familiarity with project management frameworks (e.g., PMI, AACE).
- Experience managing and administering Oracle Primavera P6.
- Experience in multi‑user project environments, including configuration of EPS, OBS, calendars, resources, and activity codes – an advantage.
