Senior Systems and Instrumentation Design Engineer (M/F/D)

Responsibilities

  • Lead system definition (P\&I\D) and process integration for Upgrades solutions related to legacy products (Gas & Steam Turbines, Centrifugal Compressors, Turboexpanders) and emerging Climate Technology Solutions.
  • Integrate new design with actual configuration at site to improve efficiency, availability and life extension of existing machines.
  • Manage all milestones from basic and detailed design through verification, procurement, testing/validation, and installation support.
  • Develop predictive system design through modeling and numerical automation (Matlab/Simulink, FlowMaster, Hysis) to forecast transient behaviors and define high‑level control logic.
  • Execute design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects following engineering practices, standards, procedures, and product/program requirements.
  • Interact with internal interfaces (ITO Team, Project Engineering, Project Manager, other design engineers, testing cell, procurement, quality, manufacturing, service business) and external interfaces (customers, suppliers) to maximize proficiency and report project KPIs.
  • Provide technical leadership for project activities and coordinate / control external engineering work, managing engineering hours and budget.
  • Demonstrate inclusiveness, social conscience, ability to remain objective and stay tuned to the immediate environment.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience in an oil & gas or broader energy engineering environment.
  • Strong knowledge of fluid systems and experience with computational analysis tools (Hysys, FlowMaster, Matlab/Simulink or similar).
  • Sound problem‑solving, analytical thinking, and process improvement skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in English (Italian a plus).
  • Ability to work across functions and manage multiple interfaces in a complex engineering environment.
  • Openness to innovation and ability to drive continuous improvement and cultural change.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma, Green Belt certification, or Root Cause Analysis methodologies is a plus.
