The Senior Technology Specialist for LAN & WLAN is part of the Connectivity Product team and is one of the professionals who do the work of delivering a potentially releasable increment of the product at the end of each sprint. Product Teams are structured and empowered by the organization to organize and manage their own work. The resulting synergy optimizes the Product Team’s overall efficiency and effectiveness. The role also acts as the Global Design Authority for LAN/WLAN standards. As the Chapter Lead for the Engineering team within the Connectivity Tribe you will lead the team of Engineers in the Connectivity Tribe tasked with the delivery and maintenance of the Products within the Connectivity Product Tribe (LAN, WAN, PCD Connectivity), ensuring that they align with the strategy of HEINEKEN.

The Connectivity Tribe team reports into the Digital Infrastructure global portfolio. Apart from the Connectivity Tribe team, also the Cloud & Hosting Product Team Tribe, the End User Devices Product Team Tribe and the Collaboration Product Team Tribe report into the Digital Infrastructure Portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Architecture & Design : Creating, owning, and maintaining global LAN/WLAN standards, reference architectures, and design blueprints for implementation across all HEINEKEN OpCos; review and formally approve OpCo LAN/WLAN designs and act as deviation‑approval authority to ensure enterprise‑wide architectural consistency
  • Global Network Governance : Overseeing and governing the adoption of LAN and WLAN standards across all operating companies, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles, managing approved deviations, and conducting periodic compliance reviews
  • Global Network Services : Designing, implementing and supporting global LAN services across all operating companies, including IPAM, DHCP, NTP, network monitoring & observability, network access control (RADIUS), and network device administration (TACACS+). Ensure scalability, security, and standardization of these services globally
  • Technical Support & Training : Providing L3/L4 expertise, architectural guidance, and escalation support; deliver structured training and knowledge transfer to regional and local IT teams
  • Transition Management: Leading and governing transitions from local LAN/WLAN models to global standards and platforms, ensuring stable service continuity during migrations
  • Strategic Project Management : Driving and executing global LAN/WLAN strategic initiatives, contribute to long‑term roadmap planning, and support capability development across regions
  • Documentation & Compliance : Ensuring complete, accurate, and up‑to‑date architecture, standards, and service documentation; maintaining compliance with global IT policies, security frameworks, and regulatory requirements
  • Vendor & Stakeholder Engagement : Collaborating with global and regional vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure network products and services meet global standards, performance expectations, and cost‑efficiency targets
  • Innovation & Research : Continuously evaluating emerging LAN/WLAN technologies and define adoption strategies that deliver measurable business value, operational efficiencies, or improved security posture.
  • People Management : Developing people and capabilities through coaching, mentoring, performance management, and recruitment, while fostering a high‑performing, collaborative environment with clear ways of working

Candidate Qualifications

  • a bachelor and/or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Telecommunications, Electronics, or other related studies is a plus
  • professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent with a focus on global IT practices
  • extensive experience in managing LAN systems in a multinational corporate environment and strong troubleshooting skills
  • a proven track record of successful IT project management on a global scale.
  • strong understanding of global IT regulations and the ability to navigate cross‑cultural business practices.
  • exceptional communication skills, with fluency in English and proficiency in additional languages beneficial
  • technical understanding of Network security concepts and services
  • an understanding of connectivity types like ethernet, wireless and cellular
  • an understanding of network (related) services e.g. DNS, PKI, Radius, Active Directory, NetFlow, VPN, IPSEC, SSL and (Reverse) Proxy, Segmentation
  • an understanding of network (related) infrastructure e.g. Infoblox, SolarWinds, Cisco ISE, ClearPass, DDI management and monitoring tools, Aruba Central
  • an understanding of Cisco (Catalyst and Meraki), Fortinet (SDWAN, Manager and Analyzer) and Aruba products and services.
