Your responsibilities
- Lead the IT function supporting the global funds business across infrastructure, cybersecurity, IT operations, application support, change delivery and vendor services.
- Establish a self-sufficient operating model with clear roles, decision rights, controls, service ownership, escalation paths and management routines.
- Provide hands-on leadership across operational technology issues, including incident management, risk remediation, capacity constraints, service stability and delivery prioritisation.
- Build strong working relationships with senior operations, technology, data, digital, risk, finance and business stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.
- Oversee the stability, resilience and control of technology services supporting funds operations, including hosting, connectivity, identity, access, end-user services and core operational platforms.
- Work closely with infrastructure and cybersecurity teams to ensure appropriate patching, vulnerability remediation, access controls, monitoring, backup, recovery and disaster recovery arrangements.
- Strengthen IT operations discipline across service management, incident response, problem management, change control, release governance and operational reporting.
- Drive remediation of legacy, unsupported, high-risk or inefficient technology where required, balancing business continuity, cost, risk and delivery capacity.
- Prepare the funds technology environment to operate independently, with clear service boundaries, governance, documentation, controls, vendor arrangements and operational accountability.
- Identify and address technology dependencies, transition risks, shared services, data flows, access models, licensing constraints and support arrangements that could affect transaction readiness.
- Develop and maintain a pragmatic technology separation and readiness roadmap, aligned to business priorities, operational continuity and risk appetite.
- Drive strong governance across demand intake, change approval, prioritisation, delivery tracking, control evidence, risk acceptance and executive reporting.
- Drive material cost optimisation across technology spend, including vendor contracts, licences, support models, infrastructure consumption, duplicated services and discretionary change demand.
- Partner with finance, procurement, operations and technology stakeholders to identify, baseline, track and realise cost savings.
- Provide senior oversight of the funds application portfolio, ensuring platforms remain stable, controlled, supported and aligned to business priorities.
- Oversee application lifecycle management, support models, vendor performance, upgrade planning, issue resolution and change governance.
- Promote standardisation, simplification and rationalisation of applications, reports, interfaces and support processes where practical.
- Collaborate closely with senior funds operations leadership, data and digital leadership, business applications leadership, finance, procurement, security, infrastructure and risk stakeholders.
- Translate business needs into clear technology priorities, delivery plans, resource requirements, risks and decision points.
- Support integration, migration, separation, rationalisation and operational readiness activities across global funds technology services.
- Ensure delivery teams remain focused on practical outcomes, operational control, cost efficiency and measurable business value.
- Promote a strong control culture across technology operations, delivery, vendor management, access governance, change management and production support.
- Support audit, compliance, regulatory and due diligence activities with accurate evidence, clear ownership and timely remediation.
- Lead a lean team with clarity, discipline and accountability, ensuring the team remains resilient despite competing priorities and limited capacity.
Our requirements
- Strong technology leadership experience in funds, financial services, asset servicing, fund administration, banking, capital markets, corporate services or another regulated environment.
- Hands-on understanding of infrastructure, cybersecurity, IT operations, service management and application support.
- Proven ability to lead technology teams through operational change, cost optimisation, risk remediation, transition readiness or business separation activity.
- Experience managing complex vendor ecosystems, contracts, licences, service performance, commercial negotiations and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Strong understanding of ITIL-aligned service management, incident, problem, change, release, asset, configuration and service reporting disciplines.
- Working knowledge of cloud, hybrid infrastructure, identity and access management, monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, endpoint services, network connectivity and security controls.
- Ability to assess application portfolios, integration dependencies, data flows, operational risks, service models and support arrangements.
- Commercially astute, with experience building business cases, tracking benefits and delivering meaningful technology cost savings.
- Strong governance, audit, risk, control, documentation and executive reporting capability.
- Proactive, hands-on and collaborative leader who is comfortable working through detail while maintaining senior-level perspective.
- Strong communicator who can engage senior business stakeholders, technology leaders, operational teams, vendors and control functions with clarity and credibility.
- Able to influence constructively, challenge respectfully and make practical decisions in complex, ambiguous or politically sensitive environments.
