About the project

Our client is seeking a Specialist Engineer to join the Privileged Access Management (PAM) Engineering Function, focusing on HashiCorp Vault. You will play a key role in the Secrets Management Strategic Program, enabling seamless onboarding and providing expert consultation services to support internal customers as adoption grows globally.

The role is hands-on and highly collaborative, offering the chance to influence strategy, contribute to high-profile IT transformation programs, and work with leading technologies and practices in an Agile environment.

Your responsibilities

• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for HashiCorp Vault (on-premises environment).
• Consult with new consumers on integration best practices, including Secrets Engines and Authentication methods.
• Create clear documentation and self-help resources to support self-service onboarding.
• Drive improvements in service health, resilience, and automation.
• Support progress on strategic programs and initiatives.
• Work closely with stakeholders to design robust and scalable solutions.
• Participate in critical issue resolution and out-of-hours changes when required.
• Note: Detailed project information will be shared during the recruitment process.

Our requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with HashiCorp Vault (preferably on-prem).
• Proficiency in HashiCorp Terraform, automation, and integration patterns.
• Strong understanding of Secrets Engines, Authentication methods, and onboarding strategies.
• Troubleshooting complex Vault integration issues and improving service efficiency.
• Familiarity with enterprise monitoring and alerting tools (Splunk, Grafana, AppDynamics, SCOM).
• Experience working in large-scale, global IT environments in an Agile setting (Jira, Jira Service Desk).
• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.

Optional

• Coding/scripting experience and GitHub best practices.
• Working knowledge of Audit and Compliance requirements.
• Exposure to Scrum Master responsibilities (managing Jira boards, prioritisation).
• Strong analytical skills and ability to adapt to new technologies quickly.
