Your responsibilities

  • Manage Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP Phase 0-3) activities with suppliers.
  • Act as the liaison between Manufacturing, Engineering, and the Suppliers.
  • Conduct program reviews on all parts in APQP Phase 0-3.
  • Review, Remediate, and Approve PPAPs from suppliers as appropriate.
  • Conduct MCA Manufacturing Capability Assesment, VDA 6.3 New Potential Analysis,
  • VDA 6.3 process audits.
  • Concuct Run-at-Rates as required for all new parts and volume change.
  • Develop suppliers to as appropriate to comply with BWI's Supplier Development and Management Process (SDMP).
  • Train suppliers on the quality and manufacturing philosophies utilized by BWI.
  • Resolve supplier issues during APQP - develop corrective actions and document lessons learned
  • Improve the quality performance of suppliers by conducting supplier workshops, improvement meetings, etc.
  • Manage critical supplier issues using escalation as appropriate.
  • Improve quality levels of purchased parts & materials to achieve quality metric goals.
  • Support MCIP goals.
  • Lead and support VAVE goals.
  • Support the Protect the Customer Process.
  • Comply with and ensure supplier compliance with IATF 16949 and BWI CSR and Customers CSR as appropriate.

Our requirements

  • Technical degree with a major in Engineering or equivalent training and experience.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Must be willing to travel as required to EU and Chinese Suppliers.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
  • High level of computer skill; e.g. Excel, Access, and Word.
  • Self-starter, must be capable of working with minimum direction or supervision .
  • Proficiency in oral & written communications.
  • Highly organized, ability to multi-task and prioritize.

Optional

  • Working knowledge of Supplier Quality processes.
  • High level of analytical ability.
