About the project, We are currently looking for a Data Engineer to support on developing a data-driven, AI-based system to optimize railway operations and support dispatchers in real-time decision-making. The role centers on the design and implementation of scalable data architectures, pipelines, and integration solutions that process real-time and historical railway data to enable advanced analytics and simulation capabilities. In addition, the role contributes to data modeling, data quality management, and the continuous improvement of data platforms, ensuring robust, secure, and high-performance data processing within a modern cloud-based environment.

Your responsibilities, Design and implementation of data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and processing of data from multiple sources (e.g., real-time, streaming, and batch data)., Architectural design of databases, data warehouses, and data mesh systems., Development of technical and business data models for structured and scalable data storage., Design and implementation of integration solutions across heterogeneous data sources and systems., Analysis of existing data systems and identification of optimization and scaling opportunities., Design and implementation of data quality rules, validation mechanisms, and monitoring solutions within data pipelines., Contribution to data governance and data security concepts in collaboration with stakeholders., Development of test concepts, automated testing, and validation processes for data workflows., Execution of deployments and version control (e.g., CI/CD for data pipelines)., Creation and maintenance of technical documentation for data processes, data flows, and architecture.

Experience managing Kubernetes clusters, min. 3 years., Experience with AWS Cloud/AWS Services, min. 3 years., Hands-on experience with REST API-based Interfaces, min. 3 years., Hands-on experience with SQL, min. 3 years., Extensive experience in Python programming, min. 3 years., German min. C1.
