About the Role

As our global footprint continues to expand, we are strengthening our finance organization to support growth, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and scalable reporting processes across international markets.

We are seeking a highly experienced European Controller, EMEA & APAC to lead statutory accounting, regional consolidations, financial controls, and compliance activities across our international entities. This role will serve as a key member of the global accounting leadership team and will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining a strong control environment, and driving continuous improvement across regional accounting operations.

The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in multinational accounting, IFRS and local statutory reporting, global consolidations, audit management, and team leadership. This individual will partner closely with Corporate Accounting, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, Legal, and Finance Systems teams to build scalable processes that support a growing international business.

What You'll Own

Regional Statutory Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Lead statutory accounting and financial reporting activities across EMEA and APAC legal entities.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with local statutory requirements, IFRS, and US GAAP reporting requirements where applicable.
  • Manage annual statutory audits across multiple jurisdictions, including coordination with external auditors and local advisors.
  • Oversee preparation and filing of statutory financial statements and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Maintain statutory reporting calendars and ensure timely completion of all filing obligations.
  • Manage statutory-to-US GAAP reconciliations and support global reporting requirements.
  • Monitor evolving accounting standards and regulatory requirements and assess business impacts.

EMEA & APAC Consolidation

  • Lead monthly regional close and consolidation activities supporting the global financial reporting process.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial results to Corporate Accounting.
  • Oversee intercompany accounting, eliminations, reconciliations, and settlement processes.
  • Manage foreign currency accounting, including remeasurement, translation adjustments, and CTA reporting.
  • Maintain robust balance sheet reconciliation processes across all regional entities.
  • Drive standardization of close procedures, reporting packages, and accounting policies across jurisdictions.
  • Support quarterly and annual reporting requirements, audit reviews, and corporate accounting initiatives.

Internal Controls, Compliance & Governance

  • Establish and maintain a strong internal control environment across international entities.
  • Develop and document accounting policies, procedures, and control frameworks.
  • Partner with Internal Audit and Corporate Accounting to assess and remediate control gaps.
  • Support compliance with corporate governance requirements and financial reporting standards.
  • Coordinate internal and external audit activities and ensure timely resolution of findings.
  • Promote operational excellence through process standardization and control optimization.

Tax, VAT & Regulatory Compliance

  • Partner with Tax teams to support VAT, GST, indirect tax, withholding tax, and other regional compliance requirements.
  • Ensure accounting treatment aligns with transfer pricing policies and intercompany agreements.
  • Coordinate with Legal, Tax, and external advisors regarding cross-border transactions and regulatory developments.
  • Support implementation of new regulatory requirements, including electronic invoicing and digital reporting mandates where applicable.
  • Maintain strong relationships with local advisors and regulatory stakeholders across the region.

Finance Systems & Process Improvement

  • Serve as a key business partner to Finance Systems teams on ERP and consolidation system initiatives.
  • Support optimization of Oracle ERP and financial consolidation tools.
  • Drive automation and continuous improvement initiatives across accounting and close processes.
  • Enhance reporting capabilities, reconciliation processes, and data governance standards.
  • Promote best practices in financial systems utilization and process efficiency.

Treasury & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner with Treasury on cash management, banking structures, foreign exchange exposure, and intercompany funding activities.
  • Collaborate with FP&A to ensure timely, accurate financial information supports business decision-making.
  • Support corporate development and acquisition activities, including financial due diligence, purchase accounting support, and integration planning.
  • Work closely with Legal, Procurement, HR, and operational leaders on regional business initiatives and compliance matters.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing regional accounting organization.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and career development opportunities for team members.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and accountability measures.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and operational excellence.
  • Support organizational growth through workforce planning, recruiting, and succession planning.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant multinational accounting responsibilities.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing accounting teams across multiple countries or regions.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, statutory accounting, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Proven experience managing multi-country consolidations and complex international accounting structures.
  • Experience overseeing statutory audits across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Strong understanding of foreign currency accounting, intercompany accounting, and financial close processes.
  • Experience with enterprise ERP systems and financial consolidation platforms.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA, ACCA, ACA, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Big Four public accounting experience.
  • Experience within technology, software, aviation, aerospace, engineering, or other multinational industries.
  • Oracle ERP and Oracle FCCS experience.
  • Knowledge of VAT, indirect tax, transfer pricing, and international tax considerations.
  • Experience supporting acquisition integrations and international business expansion.
  • Shared services or global business services experience.
  • Experience leading finance transformation and process improvement initiatives.
  • Additional European language skills are a plus.
