Your responsibilities

Develop a long-term Sales Strategy and goals targeted at the acquisition of new customers, markets and new market segments and based on insights in markets and custo¬mers/trends.
Actively participate targeting new applications for the products.
Control and to monitor the activities targeted on the Margin and Sales Volume of each Area Sales Manager.
Select, maintain and develop contacts with potential and/or important existing Customers and Agents to optimize the relations¬hip and to realize objectives on Sales and Market Share and to improve Customer Satisfaction.
Keep track of the Financial Results of the Orders per Customer.
Define and monitor Action Plans based on available statistical information to achieve objectives of Volume, Turnover and Growth.
Monitor Credit Terms of Customers to prevent financial risks.
Manage the routine (daily, weekly, monthly etc.) processing activities typically associated with the Sales Function at Plant level in compliance with the Standards set by the Group.
Manage those employed in the Sales Function.
Ensure that those employed in the Sales Function have the knowledge and skills, encourage their development and flexibility, co-ordinate their work and provide guidance and support whenever necessary.
Conduct a Performance Appraisal and Development Review with each Employee of the Plant’s Sales Function on an annual basis, and with the team as a whole, to address any issues inhibiting performance, either on an individual level or on the part of the Sales Team as a whole.
Review, on a regular basis, the processes in the Sales Function and, with other members of the Plant’s Management Team, processes within the businesses upon which the Sales Function is dependent, to ensure that they are delivering what is required in an effective manner.
Participate as a member of the Plant’s Management Team in formulating its Business Strategies, Plans and Budgets and in monitoring its (subsequent) performance so as to ensure that the corporate goals are achieved.
Advise, in the first instance, the Plant’s General Manager at the earliest opportunity of any concerns he/she may have concerning the Sales Performance of the business and/or its processes and, subsequently, advise his/her functional superior as appropriate.

Our requirements

Proven experience managing B2B sales within a manufacturing or industrial environment, with direct responsibility for commercial performance.
Demonstrated ability to own and manage P&L elements, including pricing, margins, volumes and profitability.
Strong track record in acquiring new customers and developing new market segments, ideally within a regional market structure in FMCG sector
Experience in building and executing market penetration strategies that translate into measurable revenue and EBITDA growth.
Experience in leading sales team and its performance.
Ability to work closely with production and operations to translate market needs into new product applications and offerings.
Experience operating as part of a Plant or Operations Management Team, acting as a true business partner to Operations and General Management.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Fluent Polish and business-level English.

Your role as a Sales Manager

As a Sales Manager at Smurfit Westrock’s cardboard packaging plant in Tarnów, you will be responsible for leading and executing the sales strategy of the site, with a strong focus on acquiring new customers, developing new market segments and expanding product applications. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will work in close partnership to deliver the plant’s commercial objectives and support overall business performance.

Your core mission is to drive sustainable and profitable sales growth.

You will increase sales volume, strengthen the customer portfolio and translate market needs into competitive packaging solutions in close cooperation with production and operations.
